COVID-19 (5/12 Update)

The CA Department of Public health in partnership with Cal OSHA have just released their COVID-19 Industry Guidance for restaurants that I wanted to send out ASAP.

The Industry Guidance does not provide an exact date that dining rooms can reopen as that will be determined on a regional basis in accordance to certain readiness criteria. Some of this criterion includes no more than 1 COVID-19 case per 10,000 in the past 14 days as well as no deaths in the past 14 days.

In addition, the City and County of San Francisco’s Health Department have also released their own new health directives as of last Friday. 

These directives include industry-specific guidelines on required health and safety best practices regarding COVID-19.

These SF health directives went into effect immediately as of last Friday the 8th, but there is an implementation grace period that requires complete compliance by 11:59pm on May 15, 2020. This directive will remain in effect until it is suspended or amended by the San Francisco Health Officer.
